Learn How to Apply Fake Eyelashes Quickly and Easily

Top tips for properly applying eyelashes
There I was in the beauty shop gazing at those amazing fake eyelashes not knowing whether to buy them or not. I knew that applying eyelashes for the very first time required certain knowledge I did not possess, and even though I wanted to look ravishing for the New Years' Eve party, I was afraid that my clumsiness in the domain would eventually turn me into a circus clown.
Luckily, the young shop assistant realized what my inner torment was and gave me a few tips on applying eyelashes, which I would like to share with other make-up dilettantes.
There are make-up artists who claim that putting on eyelashes during day-time is a proof of bad taste, while others state that eyelashes can be applied in any circumstances, as long as you use the proper ones. Personally, I favor the latter. I feel and work better when I have a nice, modern appearance. Thus, the first and most important tip is to decide what kind of look you want, and when and where are you going to wear your make-up. When applying eyelashes for an evening out in a club, you should chose longer and thinker eyelashes, and if they have a special design or shape, it is all for the better. On the other hand, you need medium or below medium length eyelashes when wearing eyelashes for a day in the office, a business meeting and even for an afternoon cocktail.
Choose the right color. You should always opt for natural colors during the day, colored eyelashes for unconventional parties, when applying fake eyelashes for a sophisticated event, you should always choose the black ones.
A real lady knows that new make-up cannot be applied on a dirty face, not to mention onto the previous day make-up. Thus, you should clean your face, especially the eyes area with a cotton pad and a bit of moisturizing face cream. Applying eyelashes is much easier on a clean skin.
Lots of make-up dilettantes make the huge mistake of first applying the eyelashes and then the foundation and other make-up products. Never forget that applying eyelashes should be the last step of your make-up process. First, apply the foundation, then the blush, the eye shadow, the eyeliner and only then move to applying eyelashes.
Applying full set eyelashes should not last for more than five minutes. Pay attention when unsticking the eyelashes from the tray. If necessary, use a pair of tweezers. The eyelashes kit is provided with special glue- please do not use any other type of glue for applying eyelashes. Measure the fake eyelashes by posing them over your natural ones, to see if they fit your eye. If they are too long, just cut a bit from the exterior corner, never from the interior corner. Apply the glue on the edge of the eyelashes and stick them as close as you can to your natural one, either with the help of your finger tips or with a pair of tweezers. After fixing them, wait for three to four minutes with your eyes close, for the glue to dry properly.
It is highly recommended to use mascara after applying eyelashes, because it mixes the fake and the natural eyelashes giving a fresh and candid look. Moreover, the mascara creates the illusion that the eyelashes are longer and more curved.
The nice-shop assistant also advised me to exercise the application process a few times before attending the party, in order to become familiar with applying eyelashes and with the quantity of adhesive needed.
Needless to say, that after following all these useful tips, applying eyelashes turned into an easy make-up task. While at the party, I felt as beautiful and admired as I had never felt before.
